Key Highlights from CII National IoT Summit 2015: IoT for ‘Digital India’

In the journey to leverage IoT for a ‘Digital India’, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized the “CII National IoT Summit 2015” in New Delhi with an objective to encourage engagement between IoT Start ups and MSME clusters of India.

It aimed at creating opportunities to transfer MSME business processes with cutting-edge IoT solutions.

With 100+ industry practitioners, leading global speakers and benchmarking sessions (on Smart Manufacturing, Smart Energy, Smart Healthcare and Smart Transportation), the first CII National IoT Summit focussed on IoT architecture and framework to make ‘Digital India’ a reality.

With 2.5 quintillion bytes of data being produced every day and the rampant ‘Make in India’ Industrial revolution in India; the government, industry, and academia can be seen gearing up for leveraging technologies for a ‘Digital India’.

In one of the brainstorming sessions: Kiran Karnik, a well-known leader and a spokesperson of the IT-BPO Industry said“Industry in India is starting its journey towards IoT where profitability machine utilization is becoming important for CXOs. Our future is in implementing more sophisticated IT-based manufacturing by utilizing IoT technology.”

Also one of the speakers mentioned that the Government of India has come up with a draft policy for M2M, communication protocols and how spectrum and other networks could be deployed”
